The Swiss watchmakers from URWERK have made a reputation for themselves by creating some of the world's most unique and complex timepieces, for men. Urwerk has just released their first ladies watch, the UR-106 Lotus. The new Lotus watch exemplifies that same creativity and complexity that Urwerk has been known for since its founding in 1997.
Featuring glittering gemstones and soft curves, this incredible timepiece is beyond stunning. It features the brand's signature satellite hours, displayed in a way never seen before, wandering across the dial to create a lovely horological bloom. There are three satellites, satin-finished by hand, each of them with four hour numerals, with the minutes scale in between, offering an analogue and digital indication of time. Each satellite is complete with four hour numerals that sweep along the minutes scale. Additionally, there is a moon-phase, made of lapis lazuli, which adds to the complexity of the watch.
The URWERK UR-106 Lotus was created with one image in mind, the gorgeous lotus flowe, which represents the beauty of women and their complexity for the Swiss brand. It will be available in two versions, dark and light, each of them produced in just 11 pieces and coming with a matching black or white hand-stitched alligator leather strap and a titanium pink buckle. The measurements of the watch are 35 mm wide x 49.4 mm long x 14.45 mm high. The UR-106 Lotus will be powered by URWERK's in-hour caliber UR 6.01 which indicates satellite hours, minutes and moonphases. This fine display of timekeeping will cost you around $88,100.
